“You don’t need any skills to express what you’re feeling with art."

Each year in June, Morgan Stanley, an American multinational investment bank and financial services company, holds Global Volunteer Month, an opportunity for staff to come together as a firm and give back in their communities around the world through volunteering.

Just outside the front door of Evelyn’s House is the busy, noisy, sometimes chaotic construction site for the Barnes-Jewish West County replacement hospital. But step inside, and you can almost feel the tranquility. 

Four tall, bright and colorful birdhouses are spaced evenly across the backyard of Evelyn’s House for residents and their families to enjoy watching birds from the patio of their guest suite. 

Working with hospice patients is more than a job for nurse Diane McBroom – it’s a calling. And working in Evelyn’s House is a “blessing.”
