Volunteer at Evelyn's House
Helping hospice patients and their loved ones embrace every moment
At BJC Hospice, we feel it’s our calling to help patients and their loved one embrace every moment. Maybe you feel it’s your calling too. Together with our medical directors, case managers, nurses, social workers, chaplains and counselors, our volunteers provide compassionate care that assures dignity, comfort and respect through the end-of-life journey. Volunteers offer valuable support to our patients and their loved ones, as well as to our staff.
BJC Hospice is always in need of adults and teens willing to give their time.
Evelyn’s House, situated on the campus of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, provides a holistic approach to the emotional, spiritual and physical care of hospice patients, offering the specialized attention of a hospital in a home-like setting. Volunteers for the hospice house work in shifts, typically two to four hours long.
